Providing Access To Recovery Without the Financial Barriers

Giving Hope To The Hopeless. Change Starts Here.

Welcome To Step 1 Recovery

Our Mission

Our mission is to fund recovery resources for people in Charleston’s Tri-County area affected by Substance Use Disorder but cannot afford recovery facility options. Additionally, our goal is to raise public awareness about the problem.

  • We work with recovery facilities, government entities, and fellow nonprofits.

  • We facilitate access to care and offer ongoing support for those on their journey to recovery.

  • We receive support from volunteers in the recovery community as well as business partners to carry out our mission.

  • "Deanna was a chronic drug and alcohol user who found herself on the streets of North Charleston desperate for help but not sure where to turn. She entered a recovery facility at no cost to herself and has transformed her life as a result. Given the financial assistance, Deanna now has four years of sobriety, a stable job and is an amazing single mother. She continues to work tirelessly helping others find the recovery they want but are unable to afford."
