Nicole Carman, Board Member

Meet Nicole Carman, a dedicated Board Member at Step 1 Recovery Resources. Nicole brings eight years of personal recovery experience and invaluable insights from her time working with homeless women in recovery at The Serenity House, part of the Knox Area Rescue Ministries in Tennessee.

Driven by a deep-seated passion for supporting the homeless in recovery, Nicole returned to this field after realizing it’s where her passion lies. Her vision for Step 1 Recovery Resources is to ensure immediate access to necessary resources for those ready to embark on their recovery journey. She envisions our organization as a robust support system equipped with the funds and facilities to offer help without delay.

Outside of her impactful work, Nicole enjoys traveling, playing Mahjong, exploring Charleston's vibrant restaurant scene, and spending quality time with her husband, their two grown children, and their spouses. One quote she loves is, “I can't, God can, so I think I will let him,” and we're super thankful she's a part of the team!
